About Us

The Mother Lode Black Heritage Foundation is a non profit organization established to share with students, researchers and the public at large the intriguing, complex, truly unique stories of an estimated five thousand skilled, ambitious, courageous African American Gold Rush pioneers whose stories have been overlooked by mainstream history for over one hundred and fifty years.

Through virtual technology, publications and school programs we endeavor to preserve, promote and perpetuate the African American Gold Rush experience.
